HEADLINED BY THE LATHUMS AND RED RUM CLUB AT BRIDLINGTON SPA ON AUGUST 18TH AND 19TH
“If you’re going to see the emergence of a new great band you’ll find them at This Feeling first.” – Carl Barât
The rock ‘n’ roll club night, record label and tastemakers This Feeling and Bridlington Spa, the largest indoor venue on the Yorkshire coast are proud to announce details of their biggest festival event to date. This Feeling By The Sea will bring an enviable array of leading guitar bands and next wave talents to Bridlington Spa on August 18th and 19th, led by headliners The Lathums and Red Rum Club.
This Feeling’s George Holmes commented, “We’re buzzing to be hosting a huge summer party at Bridlington Spa in the iconic ‘Royal Hall’. Having played host to the likes of The Rolling Stones in the ‘60s to Oasis in the ‘00s, it’s time for the next generation of rock ‘n’ roll stars to take the stage.”
Mark Lonsdale, General Manager, Bridlington Spa said, “We’re delighted to be partnering with This Feeling in bringing this new annual weekend festival to the venue and town. Bridlington Spa is the home of live music on the Yorkshire coast, and we’re excited to be able to provide a platform for new and emerging bands. Over the two days, you will be able to see 14 bands, performing to a potential capacity 3,800 crowd, this is one not to be missed!”
Friday night headliners Red Rum Club are the ideal band to close a seaside summer show, their sun-kissed indie-pop big on bright, exuberant melody and given a joyous mariachi-tinged twist courtesy of trumpeter Joe Corby – as heard on their critically acclaimed Top 40 album ‘How To Steal The World’.

This Feeling By The Sea’s Saturday night headliners are The Lathums, who cemented their status as one of the scene’s leading bands when their previous album ‘How Beautiful Life Can Be’ shot straight to #1. They’re now set to supercharge their continued rise with their brand new album ‘From Nothing To A Little Bit More’, which was released on Friday and has been previewed by the singles ‘Say My Name’, ‘Turmoil’ and ‘Struggle’.

Red Rum Club commented, “Buzzing to be playing the big room in Bridlington Spa this summer for This Feeling. A great group of people who got behind us in the early days. We know we will be sharing a stage with the next up and comers of the UK music scene.”
The Lathums added, “It’s a pleasure to be invited to play Bridlington Spa, we can’t wait to play some new tunes from the album. We’ll see you soon for a little dance.”
The Friday line-up will also feature belting rock ‘n’ roll from The K’s; anthemic local heroes The Feens; two This Feeling Records bands, a fresh take on stories ‘80s and ‘90s influences from Rosellas and the Supergrass-meets-Buzzcocks rush of Spangled; and storytelling indie-rock from Komparrison.
The Saturday bill will then be completed by the infectious entertaining The Lottery Winners; dreamy psychedelia from CVC; This Feeling Records’ next wave talents Overpass (who recently played with Inhaler) and Rolla (fresh from hitting arenas with Kasabian); plus high energy indie-poppers The Lilacs.
Bridlington Spa will provide a beautiful, historic home for This Feeling By The Sea. The bands will be performing in the magnificent 3800 capacity Art Deco Royal Hall. Located just a few steps away from the beach, the venue is also perfectly positioned for fans who would like to make the festival part of a long weekend away. It’s also a fitting choice as a venue as it represents a leap forward for several of the festival’s artists. Red Rum Club, The K’s, The Feens, Spangled and The Lottery Winners are all stepping up to the significantly larger Royal Hall, having previously performed at Bridlington Spa’s 250 capacity new music room Sessions.
Tickets will go on sale HERE from 10am on Thursday, March 9th, priced at £25 for Friday, £30 for Saturday, or £50 for the weekend.
This Feeling By The Sea is the latest project from the new music champions, whose support has helped the likes of Blossoms, Catfish and The Bottlemen, Gerry Cinnamon, The Struts and The Lathums on their way to greatness. In addition to their record label and club nights, This Feeling have also curated stages at festivals including Isle of Wight, Truck and Y Not?, presented the Rewired Festival, and released several editions of their annual ‘Big In…’ vinyl compilation of the best new bands around.
