First record you bought
First record I bought was OK Computer, Radiohead. I used to listen to it with my Dad on repeat for hours on end when I was a kid. I truly fell in love with that album, it’s the only album I have on all platforms (Vinyl, CD, Tape, Digital) so I can be in reaching distance whenever I need to be inspired. Genius stuff.
First gig you went (who, where, when)
The first gig I ever went to was The Top Of The Pops arena tour when I was about 7. I ended up sharing a hotdog with Dannii Minogue backstage and asking her where Kylie is.
First band you fell in love with
The Beatles. Hands down. My Dad, again brought me up on the greats and I think I had a favourite Beatles album by the time I was 6 haha (The White Album)
First song that inspired you
Bjork It’s Oh So Quiet. I remember it absolutely blowing my head off as a child. I always knew I wanted to be a singer from being a toddler, but this made me want to be myself when doing it and not conform to the girl band / girl singer stereotype. To this day it still blows my head off.
First song you wrote (any good?)
First song I wrote I was in nursery and i still remember it because my family sing it at any opportunity they can haha it goes…
“Hi, my name is Bee
I go buzz buzz buzz and I buzz around everywhere
Hi, my name is Butterfly, I go wiz wiz wiz and I fly around in the sky”
It has a ska vibe to it!
First gig you played (how’d it go?)
first gig I played was at the Vintage Rockbar in Doncaster to 60 of my mates from school. I was 14, the guitar broke, I forgot the words and it was fuckin awesome. I loved every single second of it. Good job too, eh?
First musical hero
First musical hero would be David Bowie, when my dad played diamond dogs to me for the first time, we broke down each song, their meanings and the “goosebump moments”. He’s still one of my hero’s today of course!
