STONE are a band to believe in. Their music adventurously explores a wealth of alternative genres, moving from vitriolic, post-punk poetry to soaring indie anthems built for pints-in-the-air gig mania and sun-kissed festival fields, along with a hip-hop undercurrent and a punchy, anarchic edge. And their fiercely passionate lyrics speak for outsiders and underdogs, which together with their electrifying shows, builds a powerful two-way community between the band and their ever-growing following. Now STONE unveil their first big statement with the release of their debut album ‘Fear Life For A Lifetime’. 

The release of the album caps a remarkable rise for the Liverpool four-piece. The story started nine years ago when the intensely charismatic vocalist Fin Power recruited guitarist and creative cohort Elliot Gill during their first meeting with the simple promise: “We’re going to make it.” Cementing a band united by a kindred spirit with the addition of Sarah Surrage (bass) and Alex Smith (drums), everything since has been a roller coaster rise: growing acclaim and Radio 1 airplay across two ‘punkadonk’ EPs, a unique band/fan community, and shows of such manic energy that you can’t take your eyes off them. 

Fin says, “This album is about community, passion, love, hate, singing and dancing. It speaks for all of our experiences, we want to only portray who we really are. I’m hoping people can relate to it, and maybe find their own stories through our songs. It also shows that no mountain is too high to climb, and no problem is too hard to solve. We mean what we say and we want to be a voice for those who are misunderstood.” 

Tonight sees STONE celebrate the release of the album by starting a record store tour at Rough Trade East, which culminates with a homecoming at Jacaranda Baltic. The autumn will then see them play a headline tour before they hit the road as guests to Jake Bugg in November.
