Manchester indie-rock band Corella release their debut album ‘Once Upon A Weekend’

After the explosive response to their recent singles “Lady Messiah”, “Don’t Stop Me”, “Head Underwater” and “Drifting”, the latter of which was premiered on Chris Hawkins’ 6Music show, and have all received regular airplay from BBC Radio 1, Radio X, BBC Radio Manchester and BBC Introducing, Corella have now released their hotly-tipped debut album ‘Once Upon A Weekend’, showcased by the anthemic focus track “I Didn’t Know Your Name”.

Having already made a serious impression on the UK’s new music scene in recent years, ‘Once Upon A Weekend’ looks to cement their dynamic legacy of late. Jam-packed with a wave of indie-rock anthems, perfect for the festival stages they are set to don in the summer, Corella look to cement themselves as one of the more exciting names doing the rounds for the year ahead as well.

Speaking about the new album, they said, “Our debut album ‘Once Upon a Weekend’ is finally yours. It’s been a long time coming, but to have these 11 tracks out in the world is a dream come true for us, and we cannot wait to play them for years to come.”

Highlighted by the newly unveiled focus single “I Didn’t Know Your Name”, this new offering looks to deliver more of that euphoric aesthetic they have become synonymous with in recent months. With more of those uplifting, guitar-driven textures spread throughout, they cap off this album run with one of their most captivating efforts yet.

Adding about “I Didn’t Know Your Name”, “I Didn’t Know Your Name is one of our favourite tracks from the record. We wrote this about wanting to turn back time in a toxic relationship, back to when you didn’t know who they were and to start again. From the first drum hit the song just keeps rising, definitely one we are looking forward to touring.”

Following three sold-out UK headline tours in September 2022, March, and October 2023, Corella last night kicked off their latest headline tour in Dublin. Full list of confirmed performances are below.
