Having just completed two huge sold-out shows at London’s Alexandra Palace, Sam Fender now talks about life on the road in a new On Tour video, presented by menswear specialists scotts.
Filmed at his recent gigs at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom, Sam is quizzed by members of his live band about every aspect of the touring experience, spanning everything from pre-gig rituals to returning to live shows after lockdown.
Asked about his live highlights of 2021, Sam commented, “I mean, there’s so many! Sharing a stage with Elton John, playing to 50,000 people at Reading and Leeds, and playing to 50,000 at Boardmasters. Just playing these ridiculously big shows.”
He also reflects on the experience of making his recent second album ‘Seventeen Going Under’, which like his debut, shot straight to #1. He credits the camaraderie of working with his friends and bandmates as a high point of the process.
Check out the behind-the-scenes and performance footage, plus Sam and his band wear the Barbour International x Sam Fender autumn/winter 2021 which was personally designed by Sam and available exclusively from Scotts.
This video is the latest in a series of content and events which have seen scotts celebrate the cultural connections between new music and fashion. Highlights have included their Be Part of It gigs and Under The Spotlight features with artists such as The Lathums and Jamie Webster, as well as pre-match live sets from the likes of The Lightning Seeds and Kyle Falconer during their Euro 2020 Football Fest events. Their current Xmas Live shows saw DMA’S play a super intimate set at The Old Blue Last in London, and continues Sam Fender played the 350 capacity Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club on December 10 2021.
